About the Event

Instructor Bio: Kyla Sigurdson is a multi media and performance artist. She has attended the Art Institute of Vancouver for Fashion Design and Merchandising. She has spent the last 15 years as a red seal hairdresser, costume designer, and performing artist touring both Alberta and BC. She is excited to be part of the thriving arts community here in Hope and wants to bring fashion and movement as new elements of expression to the Art Machine.


Class Description:

Creative fashionistas of all ages are welcome to cut/sew/create a custom artistic piece.

This 8 week course will focus on forging recycled materials to use in conjunction with creativity and artistic license. Students will learn to sketch a design, create a pattern and product whether that be a ready-to-wear/avant-garde or sculptural piece. Basic sewing tools provided to use during class.
