We acknowledge that the District of Hope lies on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Stó:lō people, particularly the Chawathil, Union Bar and Yale First Nations.

Creative & Cultural Industries

Establishments that create, produce, provide, and/or distribute cultural services or goods.

Festivals & Events

Annual activities, festivals, events, or educational programs hosted within the community.

Cultural & Natural Heritage

Buildings, sites and artefacts of cultural or natural significance; also includes organizations, and activities that foster the awareness and stewardship of heritage.

Intangibles & Stories

Non-physical aspects of culture, such as stories and history.

Cultural spaces, facilities and institutions

Physical gathering spaces (indoor & outdoor) and public bodies that operate accessible facilities and services for the community and/or host arts or heritage related experiences.

First Nations

Heritage sites, places, stories, customs, and symbols that represent the culture and traditions of the local First Nations.

Public art

Original work installed in a public place that reflects the culture, heritage or natural environment of a site or area.

Service and cultural organizations

Organizations that support local culture through community participation, personal growth opportunities, and the representation of arts, heritage, and cultural interests.
