Artists at Work (AAW)
Artists at Work is a drop-in group for creative people.
Started in 2009 by Sharon Blythe, this group meets in the gym of the Grace Baptist Church located at 949 – 3rd Avenue Hope BC every Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00pm. The season starts at the beginning of September every year and ends the last Friday in June.
This is a non-instructor, ‘bring your own art supplies’ environment, with members helping members in a friendly “lightly critiqued” fashion, only when asked for.
With approximately twenty members AAW now has an annual Exhibit and Sale using a space somewhere in the downtown area of Hope,BC. The group have also had exhibits in the Chilliwack Community Art Centre on Vedder Road, the Hope Angican Church ‘Flower Festival’, the Coronet Room at the Harrison Hotel & Spa in Harrison Hot Springs BC and in The Backroom ofHope Arts Gallery.
Membership is $10.00 per year plus a weekly $3.00 drop-in fee. These monies are used to go on ‘artzy’ excursions or to bring in a workshop facilitator every so often.
Hope Garden Club
The Hope Garden club meets throughout the year, to host speakers on various topics, visit gardens and exchange ideas and plants. They also disseminate information from other garden clubs.
We partner with the Hope Garden Club on the Artists in the Garden event and the creation of garden art through workshops offered by the Art Machine.
They meet the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm at
560 Douglas Street
(Canyon Golden Age Hall)
