Meetings

Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month at 7:00pm at the Hope Arts Gallery, 349 Fort Street, Hope.

Background

In May 2005, a number of original Arts Council members & new people in Hope & surrounding communities started talking about the need to start an Arts Council again.

The first regular meeting was held on June 13th, 2005 at the Hope Arts Gallery.

Since then, we have received our Society Act "Certificate of Incorporation" & have become members of both the British Columbia Arts Council & the Assembly of BC Arts Councils.

Main Purpose of an Arts Council

• To provide logistical support for the programs and activities in area communities and their member arts and culture groups
• Support service such as group insurance coverage for member groups
• To help provide for planning and co-ordination of arts and cultural events in area communities and with member groups
• To provide support for educational and professional arts and cultural development programs in area communities
• To provide support and assistance for member groups
